We don't quote jobs blind when the real cost depends on what's behind the door panel - a track that's pulled away from the frame, a bent section from a backed-into door, or wiring on an opener that someone else installed without pulling a permit. Those need eyes on them before a number means anything. We also won't quote a full door replacement without knowing the rough opening size and whether you want insulated panels, since the price swings a lot between a basic steel door and an insulated one built for a cold winter. If your opener is old enough that parts for it aren't made anymore, we'll tell you that on-site rather than trying to patch something that'll fail again in a season. And if the fix costs close to what a new door runs, we'll say so plainly instead of nickel-and-diming a repair that isn't worth it. We're not the right call for new construction installs on homes outside our working area, and we don't do routine maintenance contracts - just the repair or replacement job in front of us.
